Summer-Fall season:

 

Forestburgh Playhouse - Whether enjoying a Broadway musical or play on the main stage, bringing the kids to matinees of original musicals written just for them, or enjoying a snack or beverage while enjoying the post show musical cabaret, everyone has a great time at the Forestburgh Playhouse. Shows Mid-June through Labor Day.

Lake Superior State Park - 5-10 minutes away, has lifeguard supervised swimming and beach area, boat/canoes, fishing. Boat rentals available, picnic facilities.

White Lake - only 10 minutes from Harlequin Pines provides excellent restaurants, boat and jet ski rental, and fishing for Brown Trout, Lake Trout, Pickerel, Largemouth Bass, Perch, and pan fish.

The Catskill's - Beautiful Fall Colors is absolutely breathtaking. With the brightest yellows, oranges, reds, browns, and even sometimes purple colors.

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - The Famous and Historic site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival.... Just down the road, see the monument erected to immortalize the site where rock bands and Luv children made history! Indoor-outdoor amphitheater and museum, Starting July 1 2006 with a performance by the New York Philharmonic. Rock concerts are still performed in the area every summer well known musical performers, with both old and new bands through the fall season.

Catskill Regional Medical Center - Emergency medical services are near by 20 min.

Farm Outlets

Friendly Acres Farm, on cr 114 Fosterdale. Sells vegetables, produce, livestock, pigs, and sheep.

Bethel Summer Farmers Market, on Hurd Rd - Saturday mornings, from July 5 to August 16.

Farmers Fall Market Harvest, Sundays 11am to 3 PM at the Woodstock 69 site. Labor Day Weekend to Columbus Day.

Ice Fishing:

White Lake - Kauneonga Lake 10 minutes - Several of Sullivan County's ponds & lakes turn into superb ice fishing locations during winter months. Each winter various organizations sponsor Ice Fishing Contests.

Winter Carnivals:

The Holiday Mountain Winter Carnival - The Holiday Mountain Winter Carnival is a fun and festive time. This highlight of the winter season features races of all kinds on shovels, trays and skis, a ski tug-o-war, snow golf, snow softball, hayrides and clowns.

Rotary Park Winter Carnival The third Sunday in January every year is the date for the annual Winter in Livingston Manor (Ice) Professional & amateur figure skating, snow sculpture contests, ice skating races for children, dog sledding exhibitions. Bald Eagle Viewing:

Bald eagles love Sullivan County in the winter. Every year, more than 100 of them migrate here from Canada and other points north because parts of the Upper Delaware River and some of our reservoirs have open water where the eagles can find their favorite food-fresh fish! We also have undisturbed habitat-1,200 acres that New York State purchased specifically for eagle protection-just 5 minutes from Harlequin Pines.
